Ambulatory Microphlebectomy

Are you looking for relief from varicose veins?

Varicose veins develop when the valves within healthy veins cease functioning and allow blood to pool or flow the wrong way. The result is bulging veins that can cause pain, itching, restlessness, cramps, throbbing, and other serious symptoms. At The Vascular Experts Florida, an ambulatory phlebectomy procedure can help repair the veins and relieve the symptoms for a higher quality of life.

What is an Ambulatory Phlebectomy?

Microphlebectomy (also called ambulatory phlebectomy) removes superficial varicose veins without major surgery. The flexibility of veins allows for their safe removal through a tiny incision that does not require stitches. Microphlebectomy is often performed in conjunction with Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT) or other non-thermal treatments for varicose veins.

Am I A Good Candidate?

Not all varicose veins are treated with ambulatory phlebectomy. The Vascular Experts Florida can determine if the procedure is right for you. Patients with an active skin infection or blood clot are not ideal for Microphlebectomy.

What is Microphlebectomy Treatment Like?

Ambulatory phlebectomy is performed in-office at The Vascular Experts Florida, beginning with sterilization and numbing of the area of treatment. Tiny incisions are made in the skin and a hooked instrument is used to remove varicose veins. Stitches are not usually necessary as the incisions are very small and are expected to heal with excellent results using special bandages. Treatment duration depends on the number of varicose veins to be removed but normally takes about an hour.
