How Much Do Sclerotherapy Treatments Cost?

What is Sclerotherapy?

Sclerotherapy is a minimally-invasive treatment that is an effective solution for varicose veins and spider veins. Although these are usually cosmetic, they can be signs of further problems – such as Venous Insufficiency. If this is a concern, Dr. Lina Vargas will sit down with you and talk you through sclerotherapy, to determine whether it is the most suitable treatment for your unique requirements.

During a sclerotherapy treatment, a sclerosing agent is directly injected into the damaged veins in your legs. Collapsing the dysfunctional veins and creating a blockage out of scar tissues, they will then be naturally absorbed by the body over time.

Not only does sclerotherapy reduce pain and swelling within the skin, but it will smooth it out and help with any discoloration that you are facing. Each sclerotherapy treatment takes approximately 30 minutes to complete (depending on the size of the treatment area) and you will start seeing results in as little as 4 weeks.

Although there is minimal downtime associated with this treatment, following the procedure at The Vascular Experts Florida, Dr. Lina Vargas will recommend you to wear compression stockings for up to 3 weeks to apply pressure to the area; among any other required aftercare. As it is important that you stay mobile once the treatment is complete to allow for blood flow, you may resume all normal activities immediately afterward.

Each patient that is seeking spider vein treatment or varicose vein treatment will have a customized plan created for them by Dr. Lina Vargas that takes into account their goals at the start of the process and in the future.

Sclerotherapy Cost

The average cost for sclerotherapy is $343 according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons 2019 statistics. However, this is not the total price for the treatment. Anesthesia, operating room facilities, post-treatment garments, and any other related medical expenses are not included within this cost. Also, the number of sclerotherapy treatments that are required varies from person to person – so it is a good idea to discuss how many treatments are required ahead of time.

Although the majority of health insurance plans will not cover sclerotherapy, it is worth inquiring into this ahead of time to find out more, alongside any treatment plans that may be available to you.

To determine the final fee of your sclerotherapy treatment, it is important to contact The Vascular Experts Florida as soon as possible.
