How to Treat Rosacea

Rosacea is a skin condition that presents as redness and swelling on the face. However, with the help of The Vascular Experts Florida, it is something that you can treat. In this post, take a look at the treatment options available to you via our clinic.

What is Rosacea?

Rosacea is a skin condition that presents as redness, pus-filled bumps, and visible blood vessels on the face. Flare-ups often occur in response to a trigger, such as stress, alcohol, eating certain spicy foods, sunlight and hairspray.

Typically, rosacea is a long-term skin condition. It is generally more common in women and people with lighter skin. However, symptoms may be worse in men.

The American Academy of Dermatology identifies several underlying causes of rosacea. These include malfunctioning proteins that protect the skin from infection, auto-immune issues involving a reaction to certain bacteria, and hereditary factors. There is also some evidence that mites may play a role.

Effective Rosacea Treatments

At The Vascular Experts Florida, we offer a range of potent treatments designed to reduce the appearance of rosacea and restore your confidence.

ClearV™

ClearV™ by Sciton is a laser treatment that targets the damaged capillaries under the skin’s surface that lead to rosacea. Dr. Lina Vargas and the team shine a 1064 nm laser at problematic blood vessels causing the blood inside to coagulate and the vein to collapse. Over time, the body reabsorbs the offending veins, reconnecting the skin with newer, healthier blood vessels. Consequently, redness and swelling appear reduced.

BBL™ BroadBand Light

BBL™ BroadBand Light is a type of intense pulsed light treatment designed to treat a range of skin conditions, including rosacea. It works by gently heating the upper layers of the skin, changing the expression of cells at the molecular level. This alteration encourages them to repair damage linked to rosacea, plus a range of other complaints, including brown spots, fine lines, and wrinkles.
